There's a point in Diablo 4 where the grind stops feeling heroic and starts feeling like a shopping list you can't afford. You need Obols for gambling, Obducite for Masterworking, gold for rerolls, and gem fragments for upgrades, but the game rarely hands them out fast enough. That's why a current Season 13 trick has caught so much attention, especially among players trying to finish builds or stock up on D4 items before Blizzard shuts the door on it. It's not a fancy combat strategy. It's more of a broken loop involving War Plans, Escalating Nightmare Dungeons, and one very confused teleport button.

What you need before trying it
The key requirement is the Branching Pathways node in your War Plans. If you don't have that unlocked, don't waste a sigil on this yet, because the reward choices you're relying on won't appear in the right way. Once that's sorted, move your War Plans forward until the next task asks you to enter Infernal Hordes. Then stop. Don't click in, don't start the activity, don't try to be clever with it. You just want that Infernal Hordes prompt sitting there, ready to be used later. That prompt is the part that seems to mess with the dungeon instance.

Setting up the dungeon
Now use an Escalating Nightmare Sigil you're comfortable clearing. The affixes aren't the star of the show here, so don't overthink it. Run the first layer as normal, then clear the second one too. After the second dungeon, the game should offer you a modifier choice for the next layer. This is where you need a bit of luck. Pick Obols Reserve if you're trying to stack gambling currency, or Obducite Mine if Masterworking materials are the problem. If neither option appears, it's usually better to abandon the attempt and start fresh with another sigil.

Loot everything but leave the boss alive
Once you're in the third layer with the right modifier active, slow down a little. Don't rush straight to the boss like you normally would. Sweep the dungeon and open every chest, cache, event reward, and container you can find. Kill packs if they're in the way, grab the drops, and make sure you're not leaving obvious loot behind. The one rule that matters is simple: don't kill the final boss. If the boss dies, the dungeon wraps up properly, and the repeatable part of the trick is gone. Leave it standing, even if it feels wrong.

Forcing the reset
After the place has been picked clean, open the map and use the War Plan teleport tied to the queued Infernal Hordes objective. Instead of sending you where it should, the game may throw you back to the dungeon entrance. Check the dungeon again. If the chests and mobs haven't refreshed, hit the teleport again. Sometimes it works quickly, sometimes it takes a bunch of tries, which is annoying but not hard. When it does trigger, the containers refill and the enemies return, letting you loot the same reward setup again. Players who don't want to wait on farming routes may still look for ways to buy cheap D4 items, but this reset loop is the reason so many people are rushing to farm while it still works.
