Lo enciendo y me aparece la última página del libro que estaba leyendo CONGELADA. No funciona nada. Todo bloqueado. El problema es que le doy a reset y tampoco responde. La batería esta a tope (totalmente cargada). En cualqier caso lo he puesto a cargar y tras dos horas todo sigue igual. El problema es que el reader lo compré por ebay y es de USA cono lo que lo dela gantía está chuungo. ¿Alguien me puede ayudar?

Déjalo más de dos horas. Toda la noche si es necesario. En ocasiones el indicador de batería no es fiable . Haber si reacciona. ya contaráss.
Una pregunta: ¿a quien se lo compraste (si lo hiciste por ebay?
En teoría, con dos horas sería suficiente- de hecho lo sería sólo con enchufarlo y darle al reset. Yo apuesto por el negro: pantalla fastidiada, por decirlo finamente.

Después de otras 3 horas cargando, la pantalla sigue sin inmutarse. Curiosamente al ponerlo a cargar tarda en ponerse el color rojo, que al poco tiempo cambia a naranja. Este permanece así incluso cuando desenchufo el aparato. Para que desaparezca el color naranja tengo que hacer reset. Con el reset desaparece ese color naranja indicador de carga, pero la pantalla ni se inmuta. Ahí sigue la última página del libro que estaba leyendo. A ver si con estas indicaciones a alguien se le ocurre algo.

Abrelo y desenchufa y enchufa la batería, a ver.
A mí me pasa lo mismo... Lleva colgado un buen rato y lo tengo ahora enchufado pero no parece que esté haciendo nada... Pero no sé cómo se quita la batería :-s
¿Con qué estais intentando cargar la batería? En estos casos de cuelgues es muy importante utilizar el cargador de PSP, y no el USB, con el USB es probable que no reacciones, pero con el cargador de pared de la PSP la mayoría de lectores resucitan, aunque tengais que dejarlo varias horas.
Hay dos tipos de RESET, el "soft" y el "hard". ¿Habéis probado este último? Os dejo las instrucciones de SONY para estos casos por si no las conocíais. Suerte.

The Reader is frozen or locked up, will not turn on, or the page will not turn.
Solution:
The Reader may not turn on, or it may appear to be frozen and unable to turn a page if the unit needs to be reset, the battery is completely discharged or moisture condensation has occurred.
NOTE: Because each of these steps represents a possible solution to this issue, check the Reader status after completing each step.
1. Connect the Reader to a USB connection or optional AC adapter. Allow approximately 5 min for it to turn on. If it does not turn on automatically, slide the POWER switch again. If it still does not turn on, continue with the rest of this procedure.
2. Perform a soft reset.
3. After the RESET button has been pressed, slide the POWER switch to activate the Reader again. If the Indicator light next to the power button on the Reader is yellow , the unit is attempting to start up. If this is the case, allow it a few moments to complete startup.
4. If startup did not complete, connect the Reader to the computer or optional AC adapter and perform a soft reset again.
5. Disconnect the Reader from the computer (if applicable) and then slide the POWER switch to activate the Reader. Check if the Indicator light next to the power switch on the Reader is yellow (indicating it is turning on) and if the unit is responding.
6. If the unit is not responding but Starting up... is displayed on the screen, attempt a hard reset.
7. If the unit is still frozen, connect it again to the computer or optional AC adapter and while connected, check if the Indicator light next to the power switch on the reader is red . If this light is red , allow the Reader to charge for one hour so there is sufficient charge for troubleshooting.
IMPORTANT Notes when charging via a USB connection:
* If your computer goes into hibernation or sleep mode, charging will stop and the red charge indicator on the Reader will turn off.
* It is recommended to charge the Reader while you are using the computer or to adjust your sleep/hibernation settings of your computer to avoid any interruption in the charging process. You also can use the optional AC Adapter model ACS-5220E . This can be purchased at the Sony Style® store or Sony Style® Web site
8. Once the Reader has sufficient charge, perform these troubleshooting steps again.
9. Under certain circumstances, moisture condensation can occur. Moisture condensation can be caused by moving the Reader between temperature extremes or if the Reader has come in direct contact with moisture. If you suspect moisture as the cause, allow the Reader to sit for a few hours before attempting to turn it back on.
General notes regarding the battery status:
* You can verify the charge status by disconnecting the Reader from the computer and checking the battery indicator. The battery indicator will display 4 black bars when it is fully charged.
* It will take approximately 4 hours to achieve a full charge with a computer. It will take approximately 2 hours to achieve a full charge with the optional AC Adapter.
The troubleshooting steps listed above should resolve your issue. If you have completed all of the steps and the issue is not resolved, service may be required.
Al final ayer reaccionó media hora después de tenerlo conectado vía USB y ya lo dejé cargando sin tocarlo hasta que se le apagó la luz roja...
El caso es que algo debió de hacer en el Reader Library porque desde que lo conecté estando colgado, el programa no me abre... :-s Voy a tener que desinstalarlo y volverlo a instalar, pero voy a perder todo lo que tenía dentro ¿no? :-s

Si vuelves a instalarlo de nuevo, sin borrar la instalación anterior, no creo que pierdas nada.
Por otro lado, yo he comprobado que el Reader Library es un programa pésimo y da muchísimos problemas con el PRS-600. Yo pasé de él y uso el calibre que va de lujo.
Si quieres meter canciones lo puedes hacer "a pelo" directamente a la tarjeta de memoria.

Yo tampoco uso el programa de Sony para sincronizar mi prs600. Uso calibre que va de lujo y de momento no he tenido ningún problema (soy usuario de macintosh). Además, con Calibre puedes convertir formatos, modificar metaetiquetas y añadir colecciones a tu reader.

He desinstalado el Reader Library y lo he vuelto a instalar y me sigue sin abrir :((
A mí no me acaba de gustar el calibre :-s por eso no lo uso...

No, Calibre no guarda las citas ni anotaciones. En éso no puedes contar con Calibre para que te ayude. Pero visto lo mal que funciona el programa de Sony lo considero un mal menor. Ah y Calibre tampoco sincroniza música con el reader, hay que meterla directamente en la tarjeta de memoria.
